The epitome of beauty and brains, this web-based annual beauty contest is for the young women in nuclear-related fields. Started in 2004 and constantly gaining popularity, profile photos of participants often have contestants posing against backdrops like nuclear power plant, machinery and objects. Miss Atom is held every year as an image-building PR campaign for the Russian nuclear industry.

2. Miss Pregnant
Who says that big-bellied women can't compete in the swimwear portion? Recently, beauty pageants for to-be mommies with bulging tummies have been sprouting up in countries like Peru, Russia and the United States of America.
